 Heads up anyone thinking of going to see Peter Jackson's latest movie, "The Lovely Bones", which we went to see today.
I thought the trailers I'd seen for this over the last few weeks, made it seem like the plot was a 'whodunnit', where the ghost of murdered Suzie somehow guided her bereaved father to uncover the murderer.
Wrong on both counts. There's no whodunnit and no mystery (other than who the hell thought this was a good acript!). Worse still, there's almost zero interaction between the dead Suzie and the living she leaves behind.
The whole ends up very unsatisfying, as (a) not much happens, (b) what does happen is verrryyy slooowww and (c) the two parallel plot lines never really gell or effect each other or come together.
Very frustrating and (imo) VERY dull. |
